Muehlengrund in Wienhausen

We were there three weeks ago. The beer garden was open on Saturday, the restaurant on Sunday. To start with, I have a new favorite restaurant. Where you don't eat outside the home every day (we don't anyway) but on special occasions or when you just want to eat well. I also like to spend a little more money, at least according to my wallet. I find the whole menu extremely interesting, I enjoyed it very much, lots of little things, especially in the beer garden. The fact that beer is also brewed is the icing on the cake. The staff are very nice. We didn't have the opening times in our head, were there 30 minutes early on Sunday, but were still served, great. In my opinion, the chef does a great job. We reserve for Christmas. Addendum to the food for Christmas. In advance I have to say that we have been eating here and there for Christmas for 3 years, you spend a little more money, that's it. Every year you go somewhere different. But this time, the goose breast was awesome, tasted soooooo good. When we think of Christmas 2020, it is the extremely delicious food. The food was the highlight of 2020, we found the restaurant where we will have dinner for Christmas in the future. The home-brewed beer also tastes very good. I'm already looking forward to being able to make a reservation with you for Christmas 2021 - the end of my life.

We used the delivery service today. My meal Bashkim's Balkan pot was very tasty. Price performance top. 😋👍 There is no 5th star, because the food was ordered at 5.30 p.m. but arrived 45 minutes later 😮

The half-timbered houses steeped in history are simply idyllic

From our place we had a panoramic view of the backyard, where the service for smoking gathers. The owner walks in full operation between the guests without a face mask. One cannot understand the positive comments about the cleanliness here. Our service was friendly and on the ball. The beer was delicious. Food was almost an hour in coming, then more than disappointing for the long wait. We will definitely not be back.

We were yesterday for the first - but certainly not for the last time in Mühlengrund and we are completely happy with the choice of restaurant. We ate 1x "heather curry" and 1x ribs in dark beer marinade coated with honey plus open potatoes. There was a non-alcoholic cocktail and naturally cloudy beer to drink. Everything was delicious, from the fiery hot "Greetings from the kitchen" to the salad to the main courses. The waitress wore masks responsibly over our entire stay, but this did not reduce the expressed friendliness. The surroundings (half-timbered houses, mill, bell tower, monastery complex and church) also invite you to take a stroll and look very atmospheric, especially in the evening!

Great atmosphere and speedy service. We came to the Mühlengrund on a dark night in October. Warm lights and great selection of music created a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. The menu covers all your seasonal needs. Had a pumpkin soup and steak. Cooked to the point 😋 including the sides order of potato and onions. The waiter was very attentive and always up for a joke. Parking is a bit of a challenge. You find sparse spots in front of the building or more parking in the streets around. Will definitely come back when in town.

Delicious, super nice, clean! I'm really excited for the 2nd time. Again a great card, not big, but that's exactly what it is for me. The finest beer and the selection of schnapps should also be tried out. We will be back definitely!

Quaint, rustic restaurant with delicious food and home-brewed beer. If you like solid food at a higher level, this is the right place for you. The salad dressing is a hit! Very nice service!

Was open in the great weather despite the day of rest. So there was only one meal But this was very good. Very nice beer garden. Good home brewed beer. Super nice service. We will be back.

We are shocked. From the pungent smell in the men's toilet, empty soap and the disastrous service to an incredibly bad soup and a mushy burger. With a minimalist menu as offered here, one should expect significantly more quality. No more comparison to our last visit in February 2020

Very rustic inn in Wienhausen, near the monastery, with its own brewery. The interior is a mixture of old farmhouse, mill and brewery, but is very neat and absolutely clean. But don't be fooled by the old walls, a very young crew works very quickly and competently to make your stay as pleasant as possible. When it is full you have to be a little patient, but the service is absolutely courteous and nice, and the kitchen justifies every minute that you might have to wait. From direct experience I can say that e.g. the BBQ ribs are a dream: if cooked off the bone, there is no long nibble on rum, the meat comes off the bone almost by itself and the sweet and hot sauce fits perfectly. The potatoes are a blast in themselves: cut like thick chips and, well, either very lightly fried in oil or hot air, they taste just great, especially with the SourCream. The Coleslaw is not as typically US-sweet, but without carrots and with an aromatic, slightly nutty flavor, possibly from nutmeg? Definitely great. Oh yes, there was a small appetizer wedding soup beforehand, this was also perfectly crafted, as was the "alibi salad" (original sound from the waitress), which was served right before the main course. But the salad doesn't need to hide itself or an alibi: fresh lamb's lettuce, lollo rosso, rocket and tomato are rounded off with a delicious dressing. We ended up with panacotta on the house, but it's worth it if you have to pay for it. And: you can take the beer from the in-house brewery with you in 2L siphons. Definitely do it, tastes like more!

A nice place in an old house with flair. The service is great, always a good quote in stock and very attentive. A small menu keeps its promises, very tasty dishes and plenty of them. The price is reasonable and the daily recommendation was exceptional. All in all, a very successful evening.

Such bad service is rare these days, you have to make a real effort! The waiters did everything wrong what you can do.

First of all, a beautiful location, great location, very romantic. Just great. Ribs without a side dish were delicious. However, very expensive for a beer garden and the food is very manageable. We had to order french fries to fill us up. Service okay, but had to pay at the bar, although there was nothing going on in the beer garden and that with the prices.

Unfortunately we were standing in front of a locked door on Monday. According to the website under the item Restaurant open daily from 5 p.m. Very unprofessional.

The potential of this beautifully located beer garden is optimally used. New modern concepts paired with old historical. Delicious, home-brewed beer. Delicious schnitzel, quality AND quantity. I wish you many more summer days, keep it up.

Last week I went to Mühlengrund twice with friends to eat. Once in the beer garden, once in the restaurant and I have to say there are worlds in between. While the service and the choice of food in the beer garden were absolutely unsatisfactory, visiting the restaurant was an absolute dream. Service perfect, super friendly and attentive, we were really excited and will go to the restaurant again and again, but the beer garden won't see us anymore.

€ 4 for a 0.3 l beer. That’s a high price for me. For this, the ambience would also have to be upscale. Unfortunately I can't see them here ...

You can eat comfortably. And we like the beer garden a lot. Nice team people

We are very happy with this restaurant, good service, great and delicious food. The beer garden with its great location is unbeatable. There are always events with live music, SUP Spot Celle likes it here very much, we come often and very much.
